Comparative Research Center Sweden

CORS is a national consortium that coordinates and provides accessibility to surveybased research infrastructure for the social sciences.

Both national infrastructures, as well as Swedish nodes in international research infrastructures, are part of CORS and cover some of the largest surveybased research programs in Sweden.

The Swedish representation of some of the largest, most influential and most widely used survey research programs, nationally and internationally, are part of CORS. These include; the European Social Survey (ESS), the European Values Study (EVS), the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) and the Swedish National Election Studies (SNES). Also a member of CORS is the Swedish citizen Panel (SCP) , located at the SOM-Institute at the University of Gothenburg, devoted to collect panel data.

CORS is also engaging in several outreach activities, for example seminars, conferences, courses, popular science publications and the building of knowledge about comparative research within the social sciences.

Funding for CORS is provided by the Swedish Research Council, Umeå University, Gothenburg University and Mid Sweden University.
