SHARE User Workshop 2026
Wednesday 4 November 2026, 13.00–16.30
University of Gothenburg, Department of Political Science, Room B110, Sprängkullgatan 19, Gothenburg
Free of charge · Coffee included · Register by 1 November (form at the bottom of this page)
The Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) is Europe’s largest multidisciplinary and cross-national panel study of people aged 50 and older. For more than 20 years, SHARE has collected longitudinal data on health, socio-economic status and social and family networks from over 175,000 respondents in 28 countries. The tenth wave of data will be released early next year, opening new prospects for research on ageing in Europe. SHARE is a major pillar of the European Research Area and was the first ever European Research Infrastructure Consortium (SHARE-ERIC).
This workshop brings together researchers, data users and others with an interest in SHARE to learn about recent developments in the project and see how its data are being put to use. Participants will hear about the latest data collection efforts and methodological developments, as well as research presentations addressing key questions on ageing in Europe. The day also offers a chance to meet other SHARE users and exchange ideas for future research and collaboration.
Whether you are new to SHARE or already work with the data, you are warmly welcome to join us in Gothenburg. The workshop is organised by SHARE Sweden (Umeå University), the SHARE Berlin Institute (SBI) and the University of Gothenburg.
